FEATURED PROJECT:

When the forest envelops you

THE CLIENT:

A creative Oakland family rooted in art, community, curiosity, and a deep connection to nature.

THE BRIEF

These clients came in with a strong vision and a wealth of ideas—and the patience to explore them. What they needed was a partner: someone to help expand what was possible, bring clarity and cohesion to the direction, and keep momentum going when life inevitably got busy.

They were looking for a space that felt alive, tactile, and artful—but never precious. Functional and intuitive, with a clear sense of purpose. A place to create, experiment, reset, and relax.

THE RESULT

A one-of-a-kind kitchen that feels both grounded and expressive. The design features an earthy, layered palette—rich in tone and texture—creating a space that is at once stimulating and calming.

Sourcing from local makers including Heath Ceramics, Fireclay Tile, and MOD Cabinetry, the project reflects a deep commitment to craft, place, and materiality—resulting in a kitchen that feels as thoughtful as it is lived-in.
